our history

gràvitree originated from the awareness that a holistic approach to sustainable community development is essential for long-term success.

gràvitree grew out of Food Basket for Africa (FBFA), a non-profit organisation specialising in agricultural skills development projects in rural communities in southern Africa, that aims to improve nutrition, alleviate food insecurity and reduce unemployment. In developing training gardens at local community levels, FBFA also works closely with counselling and psychosocial developmental organisations to offer support groups and mentorship to its programme participants.
